What we collect

On this website: the name, email, optional phone, state, tier and situation answers you submit on the sign-up form, plus basic technical data (such as browser type and pages visited). The document checklist is stored only in your own browser.

As a client: the information and documents needed to prepare your return, collected through our encrypted client portal.

How we use it

To contact you about preparing your return, prepare and file it, and meet our legal obligations. Tax return information is used only to prepare your return. Under Internal Revenue Code section 7216, we will not use or disclose your tax return information for any other purpose — including marketing other products — without your separate written consent.

Sharing

We share information only with the IRS and state tax agencies when filing, with service providers that help us operate (such as our tax software and portal provider) under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
