When paying a preparer is worth it

  • You’re self-employed, drive for an app, or have a side business
  • You sold investments, crypto or a home, or own a rental
  • You moved states, have dependents with shared custody, or claim the EITC
  • DIY software is pushing you into its $100+ “deluxe” tiers anyway

Our flat prices start at $59 with a state return included — often less than premium DIY tiers once state filing is added. Compare our prices or see the states we file. Whichever way you file, the key dates are on our tax deadlines page.
